I was nominated! :)

Hello ladies and gents,

So the other day I woke up and found out that I have been nominated for a Liebster Blog Award. Which is an award for up and coming bloggers to let them know they are appreciated, and to help spread the word about new blogs. I am so thankful to have even been recognized and to have been nominated for this award. I started my blog not too long ago and to see it grow more and more each day is so exciting.

So when you are nominated for this award the nominee has to answer 11 questions that have been assigned by the person who has nominated you to help them get to know you better. I was nominated by the lovely Melissa from "Not your ordinary psychic mom blog" and here are the questions.

1.     If you could do anything for a career, what would you do? I am fortunate enough to be doing what I’ve always wanted to do.  I’ve always dreamed of having my passion and love for makeup and writing become a full time job. I am so blessed to have a husband that supports my dreams and helps me achieve my goals in any way he can.

2.     If you could live anywhere, where would you live, and why? Ideally I would love to live in a place that was without hatred, crimes, clean environment. But sadly that does not exist so I would have to say that if I could live anywhere I would live seaside. I would love to have a home by the ocean where I can listen to the waves all day long. I feel that would be so incredibly serene and relaxing.

3.     What is your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment is my son. Becoming a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It has completely changed my way of thinking and made me a better person.

4.     What do you enjoy writing/blogging about the most? Well I’ve named my blog “Everyday life and beauty” because I wanted it to reflect who I am.  Although I am passionate about makeup and I love trying out new products and reviewing them. I’m also a full-time mom and wife so I wanted to create a platform where I’d be able to share my life experiences, adventures and struggles as well as my love for makeup.

5.     What is the one cause that is near and dear to your heart, and why? Diabetes. Sadly diabetes runs in my family from my parents to my grandparents to some of my siblings. So this has definitely been a cause that is important to me and my family.

6.     What is your favorite animal, and why? I love dogs. I love how dogs can be so loving, caring, protective and loyal.

7.     Which is your favorite blog, and why? My favorite blog is “beautybroadcast” by Emily Eddington. I love the way she reviews products she has such a great way with words and I really enjoy how descriptive and detailed she is with blog and her YouTube videos.

8.     What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? Hands downs my favorite thing to do in my spare time is spending time with my family. They are my world and they are the reason I strive to better myself every day.

9.     What is the one thing you hope your children have learned from you? I hope that my son can learn to be as open-minded as I am one day.

10.  If you could, how would you change the world? I wouldn’t even know where to start. I would get rid of crime, hatred, racism. Basically the only way I can put it and yes it sounds corny but WORLD PEACE.

11.  What makes you laugh? A lot of things make laugh. My son is a big goofball he’s constantly doing or saying something that makes me crack up. Funny YouTube prank videos, sarcasm, funny comedians such as Gabriel Iglesias, George Lopez, Robin Williams. Who doesn't love a good laugh?
I hope these questions have helped you get to know me a bit better not only for Melissa but for all of my readers as well. Please don't forget to check out her cool blog and of course don't forget to subscribe to mine.
wishing you all an awesome week and stay tuned for more product reviews, recipes, guest posts, and upcoming makeup looks.

What's going on in the world today?

Got up this morning and began preparing to post a blog about the contents in my everyday makeup bag and as I was photographing all of my products I decided to turn on the TV and usually I like watching the news or some sort of reality TV or documentaries.

So I flip through the channels and decide to watch the CBS news. To my amazement the news is reporting about the Boston bombers and I can't help but to feel saddened and ridiculous for posting about makeup when there are horrible things going on in the world.
I flip the channel to the next news cast and they are reporting about the explosion in the town of West, Texas which is about 2 hours or so from where I live.

I can't help but to feel that my blog post for today is not important or useful to everyone that has been affected, hurt or killed by these tragedies. Therefore instead of posting about makeup I will be praying for them and sending good vibes their way.

Sending all of the families affected and hurt by these tragedies all of my love, and prayers....

I always welcome any comments or questions via email or directly on my blog.

Recent beauty finds...

Hey everyone,
sorry I haven't been posting as often lately but I have been very busy with school work. But of course being a true shopaholic I still find myself accumulating some awesome beauty goodies.

Yes, I am a shopaholic!

Makeup brushes are always a good investment even if you're not a professional. Investing in dual ended brushes are a great way to get more for your money. These brushes I purchased are awesome in my opinion. I've previously purchased some of the Real Techniques By. Samantha Chapman brushes which are of amazing quality and very affordable, The essence of beauty dual ended brushes are good quality as well and very travel friendly because it minimizes the need for carrying 20 different brushes.

I've blogged about these color tattoos before they are an amazing stand alone product or can be used as a base under other eyeshadows. This color in particular has definitely become one of my favs. However I must admit this product definitely is a no smudge, no budge type of product. Even after removing this product with a makeup removing wipe there was still a lot of glitter remnants left behind. Which is the only problem I have with this particular shade.

A few weeks ago I discovered this brand at my local drugstore. I was looking around for a new brow pencil and came across this brand. I absolutely fell in love with the pencil (not pictured) which made me want to go back and try other products from this line.

The glosses are actually pretty good. Both were under 3 dollars so considering the price I was expecting some goop glosses but I was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented these are. The lighter color is in the color Nude Candy and is extremely opaque. It's a very milky pink type color. It's actually a little too light for me because of my complexion. The brighter pink is in the color Hottest Pink and I love this color. I like the fact that it doesn't go on as bright as it looks in the tube. It's not sticky or goopy. I also really like that it doesn't have an overpowering scent.

The concept of this powder is great however the powder itself is a bit too chalky but not totally horrible. For $3.99 it's not too bad of a product.
I found this awesome sampler trio at my local Ulta Beauty store for $12.00 which is a great price in my opinion. For those of you that have been following my blog you probably already know how I feel about spending a lot of money on expensive high end products that I might not even like. So I love finding deluxe sample products that I can try out without breaking my piggy bank. LoL

The first bottle is a deluxe sample of the Tarte clean slate poreless face primer. Eh what can I say? Honestly I was not all the impressed with this primer. It made my skin feel like velvet which for some might be great but I was not blessed with flawless skin. I have a very oily t-zone and very large pores. I had hoped this product would do as it claims to fill in the pores but it did absolutely nothing for me. As for the Tarte BB illuminating moisturizer it was another miss for me. As I said I have an oily t-zone and this just emphasized my problem of course so I will be not reusing or purchasing the full size of this moisturizer.

As for the Tarte gifted amazonian clay smart mascara all I can say is WOW! I love love love this formula. Its extremely black, the brush is perfect for separating and coating every single lash. The packaging is also really sleek and chic. Once I finish this sample I am positive I will be purchasing the full size mascara.
Now last but definitely not least is this Avon magix face perfector. It has an SPF of 20 and it can be used under your makeup or on its own. I've used it under my makeup and on its own to test it out and I quite enjoyed this product. It did make me a little shiny through out the day but a quick powder touch up and I was good to go. I loved the way it made my skin look because it did minimize some of my pores and made my skin look a little more flawless.
Hope these reviews were helpful if you were interested in any of these products. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in any specific product reviews or a more in depth review of the above mentioned products. If you have any other questions or comments please write them below or you can reach me via email. Wishing all of my lovely followers and readers a lovely day and woot woot because it's almost FRIDAY!
P.S. I will be posting some colorful makeup looks soon perfect for the spring and summer seasons so keep an eye out for those...
