Monthly beauty finds under $10 dollars! (March)

Hey everyone I wanted to share with you all of the awesome beauty products that I found and tried through out the month of march. The greatest part of all is that they were all under ten dollars. Amazing right?
All under $10.00

Let's start off with these lovely concealers I've been using for the past month.

The Covergirl concealer has a very creamy consistency as it's meant to have an anti-aging moisturizer built into the formula. This concealer has definitely become a favorite of mine and a must have in my daily makeup routine. Due to the fact that it is a very creamy concealer I absolutely recommend to top it off with a translucent powder to set it and ensure that it doesn't crease or move around.
The new L'oreal concealer is an excellent product. The specific shade that I purchased is a little more yellow based than the other concealer pictured above as I prefer a more yellowish concealer for other areas of my face that I may have a little more discoloration. Some people use this concealer under the eyes as I am sure you can since it is very blendable, but for me personally it worked better to help define my eyebrows and conceal other areas.

These are the infamous Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoos.

I have actually purchased a few of these before but these colors are the newest additions to my collection and the most wearable for daily use. These suckers don't move at all! They really fulfill the promise of the 24 hr wear. However I have not worn them for that long. Ick who would want to wear their makeup for 24 hours? I often use the Tough as Taupe shade as a base color for a neutral brown smokey eye look.

This mascara is not waterproof by any means but it is the blackest mascara I have ever tried that it from the drugstore and under $10.00

The Milani eye tech liquid liner is a great find. Its definitely a good product for those that are still learning to apply liquid liner. The compact packaging makes it easy to hold and apply. The swatch pictured above does not do the product justice. This eyeliner is definitely more pigmented than the picture shows. As for the Rimmel scandaleyes liner in nude I recommend this liner for your waterline. It is extremely creamy, pigmented and long-lasting. By applying this liner in your waterline you give yourself a more wide awake appearance.

The e.l.f. lip exfoliator is truly an amazing find. At only $3.00 this exfoliator really works to remove all the dead skin that you may have on your lips while leaving a soft moisturizing effect on your lips.

These two products were great additions to my collection. Although the fuchsia shade is obviously not a color I would personally use on a daily basis but it truly is a very pretty color. Not to mention highly pigmented. It is so pigmented that even after wiping it off it left my lips looking as if I had applied a lip stain. Ha ha so I would recommend using the exfoliator after wearing this color to remove any remnants of it left behind. The Rimmel lip stick is a soft pink, it is very creamy and buildable..

What can I say about this brush? Other than WOWZERS! It's awesome at blending concealer, blush, creamy products, etc.. I can't get enough of this brush as with the other e.l.f. studio line brushes. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

These are great if you want to add a little sparkle to your makeup looks!

I hope you all enjoyed seeing my awesome beauty finds for the month of March. I hope the swatches help in case you were interested in any of these products. Let me know if you have any questions on any of these specific products or any others that you may be interested in.

Wishing you all a lovely week!

XOXO,
Alex

Recommended products just for MEN!

These are some of the products that I always recommend for men's skin care...

If you live a more natural organic lifestyle then the Burt's Bees product line is just right for you. Burt's Bees is a line of all natural products. I personally love this brand whether its their skin care products or toothpaste its one of my favorite brands.
Burt's bees can be purchased at most retailers such as Target, Walgreen's etc..

The Nivea brand has some amazing moisturizing products..

If you are in the market for a more high end brand. Then try the Clinique skin care line for men.

I believe this shaving kit is a definite must have for all men. It is a little pricey but its a great kit for guys to have. Or ladies this would make a great gift for your special someone... Can be found at most Sephora stores, amazon and Ulta beauty stores or online retailers.

I hope these suggestions are helpful! Any questions, comments or suggestions are appreciated!

Happy Monday!

Skincare advice for my manly men readers! :)

Guys please do not neglect your skin. Don't do what I've seen most men do they shower, brush their teeth, shave and that's it they're out the door..  Most men shave daily which can be extremely rough on the skin. Therefore it is important to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. Don't assume that skin care products are only for women. Although I must admit a lot skin care products are typically geared towards women but they do have skin care products that are formulated just for men's skin.

I recommend using a good cleanser or scrub to remove any dirt and dead skin cells you may have on the surface of your skin and depending on your skin type whether you have an oily or dry face I would then use a toner to remove any remnants of dirt the cleanser may have left behind. Usually I always recommend using a toner or astringent because men typically tend to have larger more visible pores and a good toner can help minimize the appearance of them. Toners also help reduce shine if you tend to have a more oily face this could definitely help you out with that problem.

Now that you have cleansed and toned your skin you should always apply a good moisturizer. The moisturizer you use should also depend on the type of skin you may have. If you're oily I recommend using an oil-free product but if you're more on the dyer side then make sure to find a more emollient and hydrating product. Which would be more of a cream type of product because creams usually have more of a moisture content. Also remember that most regular shaving creams and gels can strip your face of its moisture content therefore try and use a product that already has some sort of moisturizing effect so that it wont leave you completely dried out after you're done shaving.

Also keep in mind that your shaving gel is not the only component you should consider. The razors you use can sometimes be the main problem. Get yourself a good razor that has a moisturizing strip to it. Just by doing that it can help your skin drastically.

Remember being well groomed doesn't mean only shaving your beard or mustache it also includes keeping any other hairs that you may have visible such as eyebrows, nose and ear hairs. Maintaining all these areas trimmed and clean can help in keeping a well groomed and attractive appearance.

I hope these tips and recommendations have been helpful! As always if you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to comment below or contact me via email......

Remember a well groomed man is an attractive man! At least to me they are! :)

Wishing you all an awesome week!

Quick Update! (Product review)

For those of you interested in a review of the L'oreal Sublime Mousse hair dye I honestly don't even know where to start...

How about I start out by saying 'DON'T BUY IT!" " DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!"
Honestly I feel like it was a complete waste of money. I could have used those $8.00 bucks at Starbucks and enjoyed a nice hot misto instead.. LoL

The hair dye didn't even work! There was no color change at all.. I am not sure if the formula itself is too weak or if it's because it comes in a mouse form. All I know is I absolutely DO NOT recommend this product. It gets a 1 out 10 rating from me. The only reason I am giving it a 1 is for the neat packaging and the idea of a hair dye formula in a mousse. Other than that this product is horrible.

What to do??? Homework help!!

Some people get writer's block but I am experiencing a creativity block!

As most of you know I am currently finishing up my makeup artistry program and I have a few assignments coming up where I have to recreate a character based off a Broadway musical or opera. But I am at a loss for ideas. So I went on google in search of all these characters but could not decide on which character would be perfect for me to recreate. Some of the characters I found were in my opinion not challenging enough for me. I want to prove to my mentors that I have a talent for special effects and show them that I am not interested in going for the safe options such as Mary Poppins or Cinderella..

If any of you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Don't hesitate to send me a comment on my blog or email lifebeautyblogger@gmail.com

Revamping your shoes with nail polish!

Some people make over their SOULS, but I make over my SOLES, shoe soles that is!
If you feel your shoes are looking a little run down or you feel like they could use a little something extra. Then try revamping the soles of your shoes and add a little color.

All you need are a pair of heels that are in need of a makeover, some rubbing alcohol and cotton balls to clean the bottoms of the shoes, a white nail polish to place down as your base coat, and a colored nail polish of your choice. Last but not least a small art painting brush to help paint on your polishes.

(Important note): Do not use disposable foam plates to pour the nail polish into. It will eat right through the plate like acid.. hahaha

After your clean the bottoms with the alcohol go ahead and apply a few coats of the white nail polish allowing the polish to dry in between coats. Once you've gotten a good bright white base, go ahead and start applying your colored nail polish. Apply a few coats of that until you are satisfied with the results. If you want it to have a glossy finish feel free to apply a clear top coat. Once you're done allow them to dry completely and then slip on a your favorite party dress and enjoy your time out...

I chose a red nail polish for my shoes. I wanted the color to be subtle but still noticeable.

Hope you find this blog post helpful and feel free to post pictures of your newly revamped heels!

Happy Monday,
Alex
